Independent Viking service · Boston

Professional ranges,city kitchens,one trade.

Viking ranges, wall ovens, refrigeration and dishwashers across Boston proper — the Seaport towers, the triple-deckers in Eastie and Southie, and the hill streets in Charlestown. Diagnosis on site, priced before anything is opened up.

A 36-inch range in a room that was laid out for a 30-inch stove is the most common thing we walk into. It changes clearances, it changes ventilation, and it changes what a fault actually means.

How this works

Three things that do not change

  • Hand tools laid out on a canvas cloth — paint brush, screwdrivers, pliers, a spring and small brackets with loose washers

    Diagnosis before a price

The flat $95 call covers the visit and a full diagnosis. A repair price comes out of what the readings say, and it is given before the first part is ordered.

  • Long-nose pliers with red and black screwdrivers on a cloth beside a bracket, a wire brush and bolts

    City access, planned in advance

Freight lifts, dock hours, resident permits and a stair turn that will not take a 36-inch chassis. We ask about all of it on the phone rather than discovering it at the kerb.

  • Yellow-handled screwdrivers, pliers and a brush on a cloth with small clips and screws scattered beside them

    Independent, and clear about it

No affiliation with the manufacturer. Factory-approved parts where they exist for the model, and an honest answer when a cabinet is not worth the repair.

The upper rack came out dry but still soiled every single run, whatever we tried. The feed to the top spray arm had scaled almost shut and the bearing was worn through. Both replaced, and the top load actually washes clean now. He explained how the scale builds.

Our tower needs the freight lift booked and building paperwork cleared before anyone works in a unit. All handled ahead of time, and the griddle heating on one side only came down to a failed igniter.

The interior lamp stayed on with the door shut, which is why the cabinet kept warming. A door switch had failed closed. Quick fix, and he checked both compartments after.

Asked on the phone

Before you book

What does the $95 service call include?

The visit, the diagnosis and the explanation: gas pressure and spark where it is a cooking appliance, temperatures and defrost behaviour where it is refrigeration, fill and drain behaviour on a dishwasher. It is credited against the repair if you approve one, and it is the whole bill if you do not.

Can you get into a Seaport building or a Navy Yard conversion?

Usually, with notice. Those buildings run on booked freight lifts and dock windows, and a few will only let a contractor in through a management office. Tell us the building when you call and we will make the arrangements part of the appointment rather than a surprise on the day.

The range came with the condo. Does that matter?

Only for the model number. Look for the rating plate behind the kick panel or on the frame under the door — it tells us the platform, the gas type and which burner assembly is fitted, which is most of the diagnosis before anyone arrives.

Do you work on the ventilation as well as the range?

We diagnose what the hood is doing where it affects the appliance underneath — a professional burner and a starved duct run are frequently the same complaint. Duct alterations inside a building are a different trade and we will say so.

Is there a form to fill in?

No. There is a phone number, answered 24/7, and a booking page. Nothing on this site collects an address or an email.
